Dear Baron,I began practising yoga 2 years ago when i found that my gym membership covered yoga classes. Since then I have enjoyed yoga so much that it has become part of my life.About 6 months ago while shopping for a friend's brithday gift, I came across your book and it has been a source of further knowledge and inspiration for me, especially now that I have switched occupations from College Lecturer to Corporate Trainer and yoga gives me great release and calm. Thank you so much for sharing your gifts. Please know you have a definite fan in Malaysia.Mark Stephan Felix

I found the practice a about two months ago. After 18 classes and losing 10 pounds already along with several inches off my waist already, it is changing my life for the better in a dramatic way. The mental and physical value this is bringing to me has become noticeable in everything I do. The instructors are so positive and so focused on helping us attain a place we may have never imagined we could visit. Thank you for helping me change my life and I look forward to how I will look and feel after hitting my first anniversary ! Ed Kane. Providence RI.

I have just started to read your book "40 Days to Personal Revolution", I have been doing yoga for the past few months to help reduce stress and help shape my body but still something is missing, based on what I have read and started thus far I am hoping your program will help fill the void.

I don't know if you'll read this or not Baron, but I just want to thank you for changing my life. I have been struggling with anxiety and depression for a number of years, but ever since I purchased your Level 1 Power Yoga, I have felt like a new person. I am now doing Level 2 and I absolutely love it. I feel like my inner self is truly being healed each time I practice. I love your teaching style, your calm voice and overall just the way you perceive life. I feel so much calmer throughout my days and keep the quotes you say fresh in my mind whenever i'm feeling anxious or angry. Thank you.

I am now reading "40 days to personal revolution". The path leading me to have this book in my hands was laid out without my knowing. Several things happened, as mentioned in the book, a synchronicity that made this happen for me. Part of me is excited because I know that it is time, another part of me is scared, not trusting in myself that I can commit. But, there is much in the book that is resonating with me. I am half-way through the laws of transformation and am trying to be patient as I am eager to experience the yoga asanas.I have looked at this website a couple of times now, hoping that I can attend a workshop sometime.jeff cowen

As a musician with a day job, and hence a 14 hour average day, having a clear focus after part one of the day so I can start what is truley meaningful to me and what is my contribution, is over time extremely difficult to find. I started doing Vinyasa yoga to stay in shape and prevent career stopping injury and in the process have gained the focus that is so neccessary. Much thanks to the teachers and staff.Alfred.

I learned about Baron Baptiste Power Yoga about three years ago when my husband and I attended a yoga conference in Florida. My life will never be the same! Baron continues to provide wisdom and encouragement with all that he offers. I have read his work, listened and watched his tapes and it never fails that I learn something new every time - even after three years of practice! It is akin to studying the bible - one learns (and interprets) according to their situation in life at that moment. I had that A-hah moment when I saw your t-shirt that says "Suffering is Optional"... Wow - that did it for me - the light bulb finally went on! Thank you for your continued effort to reach people and to help them make a difference in their lives. Thank you for helping ME to be the "change" that I want to see in the world!Cindy

My daughter introduced me to your power yoga via a DVD gift. Unfortunately, it's level II, and I probably should've started out with level I, but I tried it anyway (I'm 57 years old). I normally go for a chiropractic adjustment when my back is out, but since my chiropractor was out of town, I made a rather half-hearted effort at the yoga exercises and was amazed at the results the day after! Now that I've experienced first-hand the power of your yoga training, I am going to set a goal of never seeing my chiropracter again by taking charge of my own physical health in my own home, since my full-time job leaves me little time to join a group. Thank you so much!!

My daughter is my yoga instructor and has attended Baron's teacher training bootcamp. I am attening the Nov. Bootcamp, Costa Rica. She and my personal trainer are as exciting as i am about this adventure. I am a wife, mom and grandma. I am 68 yr. old and intend to give myself every chance to live to be 100 and not regret it. I am confident that Baron Baptiste has a message and method that will invigorate and inspire me, much as his book, 40 Days and The Bootcamp Box have. Making my goal a grand journey.

It has been 2 years since Monika and I had the pleasure of meeting Baron and his staff at Pura Vida. We recommend the Boot Camps to all that wish to improve themselves in all facets of life. We wish that our scheduals permitted us to attend more of the retreats (such as that in Costa Rica, Mexico, etc) We unfortunatly lost touch with most of the others that attended with the exception of Bo Rinaldi and Star - great people (they actually have opened a Raw Food Restuarant on the Island of Kuaui and have published a must read (if you love the Raw Food regieme). Also if anyone from Baron's staff reads this please tell the owners of Pura Vida that the small Golden Retriever Puppy we bought from them in 2002 is happily digging up my mom's entire back yard in Pinehurst NC and she (DAFFY) weighs in at 135 lbs. I started yoga with my friend in Sedalia Becky Hartman. She highly suggested the bootcamp. I moved away one yr ago. I am back into this fantastic yoga practise with Baron's video I purchased at Amazon.com. I am finding myself again. I have been lost from my soul and I have bben searching high and low. It was in there just covered by the world's toxic poison. I am peeling my onion each and every day. Thank you so so so much for the spirit of power and freedom found deep within the yoga practise. I am ALIVE!!! I now want to do a camp. I will be checking into this, Becky is right. Now that we are 40 something we need to be reborn to ourselves and our inner person. I have not fully comprehended the effects of the Boston Personal Revolution Week-end, but I know what I feel and how I felt last night and that is truly all that matters. I left with a HUGE WIDE smile on my face. I was just very very happy and light. It was a feeling of pure joy. I feel strong and motivated to confront things I have not wanted to do or had the energy to do. I love the feeling of clarity and cleanness and energy that comes from a good practice. This was two consecutive days of it. I can not wait to get back to the mat. It is an extraordinary, rare, indescribable feeling and I would encourage ANYONE to give it a try. I had no expectations. I certainly did not expect to feel so happy. Maybe, it is the Krishna Das music at the end of each session which really brings everyone together after being so alone on the mat. It must be some combination of the two which is so powerful. I am almost a ringer for Costa Rica.....I practice at home, I practice at the Boston and Cambridge studios, I listen to Krishna Das at home. This was just one step more happy than all of that...GO FOR IT. Give it a try. Baron come back to Boston or somewhere near soon so we can do it again !! Thank you. I saw you on Regis and Kathy this morning. Go For It !!AND THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU to all of you who made the week-end possible and all of you who assisted in the sessions. A good assist makes all the difference !! THANK YOU.

I have been practicing power vinyasa and asthanga for about 3 years now and can't believe I waited so long to experience this. This was my first workshop of any kind ever. Hearing 250 peole chant OM in unison was worth it alone. What a beautiful sound. I came in on Friday afternoon, all the while on the road on my cell phone listening to an angry client on the phone screaming her head off at me because I was not at the office, although I had scheduled this afternoon off. I could do nothing and came to our first night a bundle of nerves. I left that evening so light and free. I allowed myself to just surrender to this weekend. I have never practiced so much in such a short time and although I am sore I feel as if I could practice again and again, I truly made big strides this weekend and look forward to taking it to my practice here at home. I can't wait to come to the next retreat. I want to thank Baron for sharing his practice with me and all the wonderful assistants who helped me along the way. You were all so generous with your time. Namaste!

I just want to thank Baron and all the special "angels" that helped us get through the recent Boston weekend! I had thought that I was an "experienced beginner" enough for the intermediate class (and within the first 5 minutes found out that I was clearly WRONG!). Thanks for a great weekend of excellent practice. I had several fears going in: that it would be too hard and that Baron would act the part of a "guru" and I would get turned off. As with most fears, they did not materialize. Instead, I found the Practice challenging, but invigorating and Baron a great teacher who doesn't pretend to have all the answers. I am thankful for my practice and for the way it's changed me!

Just returned from the Boston Personal REvolution weekend. Wanted to send a big thank you to baron, his angels and everyone who generously donated their sweat, presence and vitality to make it a fabulous weekend.Working with the notion that a Yogi is born after their first "real" Yoga" practice has begun, I've included my musings below as a tribute to all the Yogis, their expansive souls and thier limitless Hearts. Feel free to pass on the Joy & Keep Rising....~~~~JOURNAL OF A 3 DAY OLD YOGIDAY ONEMy body feels clumsy, but strong. I wobble, but I stand. I look at my hands and feet a lot, they seem fit and full with idea.I am alive. I am awake. The days feel a bit dusty, the tint seems off. There is way too much orange. by Squinting, I am getting used to it. Outside is bigger than I remember. I don't want to close my eyes. Each person’s story is new. I can hear their voices clearly I discover the rhythms previously unknown. The streets are beautifully filthy and spilling boundless life. I am happy. Everything is feeling smoother.Today I sat in the sun for an hour, and closed my eyes often. I am more orange, and am fitting in nicely. DAY TWOMy pace has either quickened or slowed, I can't tell which, but I do more and rest more. The back of my head seems heavier than the front It is always tilting. The other day I caught myself humming. I am joy. I feel wide. I no longer simply hum, I resonate. The day stretches so thick through the middle that I feel I can build a house in it I want to take photographs of it all.My eyes are closed half the time, yet nothing is missed. People smile as they find their postures.Struggling becomes a doorway into joyI think little and feel all. Things are as they please, asking nothing. DAY THREEI am stripped through. I have reached past the layers of fear, doubt, and egoI have launced a wrecking ball through the walls & barriers I am carelessly exposedMy heart beats like a bird against my chest and wants me to rush through the wind and air giving it to everyone I meet. I am I. I am peace. There is nothing so perfect at being me than myself. Excepting a flower. Or a stone. In place of hopelessness at this, I feel hope. Joy overtakes me for no reason at allI do not dwell in the past. By the time I feel it, it is gone. nor do I ruminate about the future.I am here, in the expansive ripe present Now. I simply am as I can be: The infinity of all possibilities that rest here in a stillness that is my soul The silence inside me has been excavated, Inside I am as smooth as porcelain. My inner lake is still, and it reflects the world as it is. I am left with love. ~~~

Just back from the Boston Personal Revolution Bootcamp! What a remarkable time. Nearly 250 individuals coming together in one large class and did we WORK! It culminated with a very personal and emotional experience for me Friday night...while listening to Krishna Das as we were wrapping up, all singing together, clapping in unison, I found myself in a very pleasant trance-like state, looking out into the harbor, and had a very spiritual experience of connecting with my grandmother (since passed) who I was very close to; a tear of joy came to my eye knowing I am greatly cared for and watched over! Thanks for a great experience! It was very affirming, centering, and a great reminder to "simply BE!!!". Loved it all!

Dear Baron & Boston 9/2004 Staff:Thank you for a weekend of love, and beautiful challenge. I'm so thankful to have experienced such intense practice. Your promises of focus, and clarity were truly met, and each practice session was a revelation for me. Thank you Baron for your discussions and insight. If possible could you possibly write me your thoughts on the following: How and or what should a teacher keep for themselves? Should (and how) do you prevent yourself from constantly thinking of your students? For a teacher, when (and should) the daily practices of a yogi be for me only, and avoid questioning myself as to 'How can I share this experience with my students?'I hope you can help with this question. I look forward to your reply, and hope to practice with you again soon. Also thank you for signing my book. Namaste.LV

After many years of studying "Western Medicine" and submitting firmly to the "Scientific Method", I arrived at a place that gave me a clear vantage point of how deliteriously out of balance the concept of health has become in our society and how distanced we individulas have are from our intrinsic and integrated sense of true homeostasis, wellness, and vitality. The reactive model of modern western medical practice, I have spent over a decade dedicated too, does not include the tools and practical methods to systematically counter and prevent the frequent and debilitating illnesses I am working with on a daily basis as well as my own overpaced, hectic schedule devoid of the fundamentals in maintaining my own health. I have considered the many promising but fragmented apporaches in the numerous books lining various self-help sections in bookstores, have been a guest at many health clubs, have trained in many atlhletic pursuits, have attended various conferences, visited many studios (yoga and pilates) as well as studied many faith traditions (zen, tibetan buddhist, sufi, orthodox christian ..etc). While each contained a piece to the illusive puzzle, none seemed adept at bringing the pieces together into a cohesive wholeness and readily digestible process and practice. Quite by accident, I was given Baron's book, and mused through its pages without much confidence as to what was contained within. It was the simple yet heartfelt introduction that cut through my disinterestedness and invited me into the process Baron has presented simply and poignantly. I have no disclaimer other than to state my own personal experience and belief that this is among the first books wherein lies many of the illusive pieces aligned into a recognizable whole. The practices are direct and bring the individual into communion with the deeper presence that exists mostly unnoticed in each of us. It is at this point that the true journey to wellness and vitality begins. I applaud and personally thank Baron for breaking through the many barriers of our fragmented and deriseve age and having the courage to speak in a unified voice to everyone. While I cannot conclude that Baron's program is the panicea we may be hoping for, it is a path each of us can subscribe to toward our own inner truth of power, balance, vitality and life. If you are fortunate to encounter this path before your own health has been eroded by the wiles of the contemporary world and society, it will surely lead you towards sustenance and unthought of vigour as well as connection with your own strength at all levels. if on the other hand your health has already fallen into question, Baron's pearls and practices are no less valid, and can be subscribed to in part, in consort with other modalities ,until such time as you may be able to more fully participate or reveal within yourself the strategies and path that is individually yours toward restoration and refound balance. As a medical physician and specialist I have countless medicines, therapies, and libraries of knowledge available to me, yet it is Baron's program that I personally use to keep my life centered and connected to the ulitamate source of health that is within. I encourage you toward the same and look forward to meeting you and sharing in your truths along the way. ...... Keep Rising!

I just got the "Soul of Strength" tape and have been working it every day. I just want to say that the presentation is nice and relaxed, right there in the studio, so I feel as though I'm part of the group. Its a great way to work out with a tape. I love the line, "Angels Fly because they take themselves lightly" - it makes me smile every time I hear it.I'm registered for Baron's class at the 9th Annual Yoga Journal Conference in Estes Park, and I'm really looking forward to it.Yoga is power.

I just returned home from the amazing weekend in Dallas, Texas! I cannot begin to express my gratitude for such an incredible experience. The inspiration that Mr. Baptiste brought to light within me was a life altering blessing. Also thank you to all of the assistants and the Kendall's Dallas crew that enriched the weekend. Three weeks prior to the weekend, I had been physically ill with colon problems stemming from multiple sclerosis and had struggled with the thought of even going to Dallas, much less being able to physically participate. Something inside told me to at least attend and maybe just take notes, but just GO! That I did and for some reason my physical llimitations disappeared and I was able to participate and do very well with the intermediate program. It was quite a shock, not only to me , but also to the three other friends that were there with me. Mr.Baptiste's philosophy is so pure and thought provoking that my mind overuled any physical problems I was having. Wow, what a powerful tool our mind is! I now have a renewed spirit and drive with myself and my yoga practice. I feel that now I can start teaching again and am forever grateful. I most certainly will attend numerous other events offered by Baron Baptiste! I am reading both of the books for the second time now and will continue to revisit these tools! It is really hard to express in words the peace and excitemnet I fell in my heart. Also, I appreciated the levity during the sessions as it helped to release as I was sweating and quivering! Many, many thanks and I wish you well in Austin! I only wish that I could be there too. I did my undergraduate work in Austin and fell in love with the city and the people, I hope you will too! I am looking forward to seeing and studying with you in the very near future! I still want to know the name of the book about the lady repeatedly falling in the hole. I was the one who shouted out Alice! Namaste, Susan Hicks Corpus Christi, Texas

After reading his books, listening to his CD’s and practicing with his DVD’s I was set to meet a legend and I was overjoyed to rub elbows with a regular guy surrounded by regular people who all love what they do. Baron and his staff glowed- they were present in our weekend and it made me “now here” too! If you know Baron or you are one of his staff you are probably giggling. But if you are like me and just love this Baptiste Power Yoga and you think Baron is some superhero. I am here to tell you he is so much better than that… he is just like you and me! Don’t you just love that! Thank you for a wonderful two days of flow!Lacy WhittingtonAustin, Texas

I have just returned from the weekend workshop in Dallas, Texas. Thank you all for your hard work. I went there with expectations of bringing back "new moves" for the yoga classes that I teach here in Corpus. Instead, I received something that I never expected and I am not sure why. At one point, I was literally taken to my knees. I am what I consider to be physically strong but during the Saturday morning class, I was unable to do the most simple push-up. I felt completely defeated. Something inside of me changed. I cannot explain what happened or why that happened but by the time I came back for the afternoon class, I felt like a different person with a different outlook on my yoga practice. It was much easier. I became much more aware of each pose and each one felt more natural. I also felt "light". I am truly grateful for the experience that I had. It was a humble experience and obviously something that I needed. I returned home and I am happier than I have been in a long time. I will make the time in the very near future to return to another one of Mr. Baptiste's workshops. In the meantime, I will read and re-read his books. I really love his philosophy. He is real and makes the yoga lifestyle something that everyone can obtain rather than being so completely unobtainable in the real Western world. Thank you for sharing your work and world with us. It makes a difference in so many people's lives. Namaste,Michelle

I am still very much a beginner. I am currently trying to incorporate a couple days a week at the Cambridge studio into my life. I've been several times and plan to go tomorrow. I love this studio and Gregor is absolutely the best teacher and spirit!

I am a clinical psychologist, 4th dan black belt in TaeKwonDo and life-long athlete. I discovered Baron through Yoga Journal and have used his tapes and videos; it has resulted in a greater friendship with my body than I had before. I utilize the principles in teaching yoga as part of my professional practice, working with incarcerated mentally ill female felons.

I just attend my first yoga class yesterday...and I'm sore. I've been practicing at home for about 5 months, and thought that because of my home practice, that a beginner class would be ease, but I was mistaken.I didn't realize how easy it was for me to "cheat" while doing the poses. In a class, with a certified instructor, you don't have those opportunities. And I loved every minute of it.Now, I've discovered Baron Baptiste, and am waiting to be stretched to infinity and beyond.Anthony Baldwin Lewis

I was a student of Physical Fitness in Boston, I worked in different fitness centers and sports clubs in Boston, a year ago i was living in Cambridge, 2 minutes walking from the Porter Square B.B. Studio, even though I was taking for free Power Yoga classes at the places I was working I decided one day to take a class at the B.B. Studio. It has changed my life and my approach of fitness to my clients. The Book JOURNEY INTO POWER has been really my BIBLE. Back in Greece now I really miss the class I have the book and some DVDs. I would like one day to be able to take or give personally a class of Baron Baptiste Power Vinyasa, Hot Yoga in Greece or Europe. For those that haven't take the class just try it once and the results will be more than visible.

I attended the Personal Revolution weekend in Chicago, and I just wanted to thank you, Baron and all of your assistants, for a wonderful practice. The weekend opened my body and soul in ways I was not prepared for, but I eagerly accepted the challenge. The Personal Revolution changed my life. The practice is no longer a struggle...it's a joy.

I picked up Baron's Level 1 video for VHS and have been doing it for about 30 days. Although it is a challenged to get myself to do it everyday, I usually do and I can't believe that results are happening. Little by little, I get a little more toned and flexible and I can do postures that I couldn't do. I find this all amazing and see why so many people eschew the benefits of yoga. I plan on getting the Baptiste live dvd and Baron's new book. Mr. Baptiste seems very sincere and genuine so I trust him.Sincerely,KenStow, Ohio

I have bought the Journey into power book as well as the Live! DVD. Needless to say, I am hooked! I've been doing yoga for more than a year now and the Power Vinyasa yoga really does wonders. Personally I prefer to do yoga with DVD's, as it resembles going to a class. Does anyone know if Baron's going to make the full 1½h practise into a DVD? I would be the first one to buy it! As I understand, the Journey into power DVDs seem a bit short for my liking. Anyways, thanks for the inspiration!

I first heard of Baron recently when he was in Portland. He was featured on Good Day Oregon in the morning. I was passing by the T.V. when I heard him speaking and he caught my attention.I was really drawn to him and his message. I have been suffering from Fibromyalgia for years and have been looking for something that I can do to help my body and mind. So a few days ago I saw my doctor and she thought it was a wonderful idea and that Yoga would probably benefit me the best out of anything. So now I am buying Baron's latest book and am going to begin classes next week. I am begining my journey.... And I hope to be a success story. Thank You for your time..

I would like to be notified about any of your upcoming level one teacher training bootcamps. I am ready to move forward in my practice- I am especially interested in the summer courses as I teach in college and am off then. Can you put me on your mailing list? I realize I missed this year's class, but want to make sure I sign up for next year's Yukaton trip in Maya Tulum. Thank you so much for offering such great yoga classes. My yoga career started more than a year ago, when i bought Barons's book Journey into power. Somehow the book and DVD's got buried somewhere in the cargo boxes when i was moving to the UK, and I thought I'd do fine without it. Even though there are lots of yoga classes here, nothing is nearly the same as the book and DVD's, and to my embarrassment i have been lazy and skipped many classes... Gained weight...I didn't have any New year's resolutions, but I thought I'd simply commit myself on starting again. It's never too late isn't it?

I have a video that was made (I think) in the early 90s by Baron Baptiste; it is a hot yoga levels 2&3 course. This video is incredible; it is about 75 minutes long, and whips your body into shape. I don't think this video is made any longer; and I'm sad b/c this video is pretty old and it may break at some point. In any case, it has become an essential companion on my yogic journey. I have recently completed a retreat at Kripalu Center in Lenox, Massachusetts, and I have to say that I am grateful for the many and varying styles of yogic teaching, tradition, and challenge. Thank you Baron for all your inspiration, and I hope to train with you at some point in time. Namaste.

I have to thank Baron Baptiste for challenging the status quo. This is the way people, and cultures, grow and evolve in a way that survives the ages. It would be complete ignorance to think that yoga hasn't been evolving over the millenia that it has existed. Baron has reminded us of that fact. More importantly, he trusts--and invites others to trust--that by utilizing wisdom gained through tradition AS WELL AS our intuition, we can find our own path. Just as all other great spiritual people have done. Thank you, Baron, for taking the risk to encourage people to follow their own path, and not to simply follow others blindly. I think Baron does acknowledge that he learned a great deal from his teachers from many traditions, and those who think he is disrespectful of true yoga practice need to open their minds and read his book(s) or hear him speak before making such claims. He does not criticize people who need to seek help and advice when necessary, nor does he discount the utility of a teacher. What he speaks about--and what people need to be aware of--is when people fall into a pattern of thought that disempowers them and they become reliant on others and ignoring their own intuition, people do not achieve the levels of growth possible to them. Baron respects the deepest message of yoga: that we are perfect within, and that we have the wisdom within ourselves to know the best path to bringing that perfection forth. This is a frightening message for some as it means you need to get up and do it yourself NOW--with help if you need it--but YOU are in charge and can't blame someone else for failures or not give yourslef credit to know what's right for you. It's not the easy way out of doing what someone tell you to. You need to think and introspect and experiment. All good yoga instructors encourage this of students--not just from any particular tradition. I look forward to one day being able to afford one of Baron Baptiste's teacher trainings so I can help do the same for others and inspire them to find their path. And it will be well worth it! Meantime, his books and Live! DVD are wonderful. Find your power!

I keep your words of wisdom in my head and heart. In certain situations in my life they come up and guide me and help me to deal with that particular situation or problem.I read your book 40 Days to Personal Revolution and must say that even though I did like your first book Journey into Power very much your second book did touch me on much deeper level. It is a wonderful book and I do recomend it to everyone. May the new year be happy healthy and fullfil with inner peace and joy for everyone. Namaste Jitka
