Mary Basch

Mary's yoga journey started in an aerobics class. Her aerobics instructor started incorporating yoga poses into her classes. She claimed that yoga was the only thing that got her abs back in shape after having a baby. Since Mary just had two daughters in 22 months this got her attention. Little did she know that yoga would not only get her abs in shape, it would get her life in shape.

After trying a few different yoga videos, someone suggested Baron Baptiste's Power Vinyasa Yoga. Mary bought it and was hooked. At the time, she didn't have any idea that yoga would not only train her body, but it would train her spirit and heart as well. Yoga's effect on Mary was so profound that she knew she wanted to share it with others. Teaching yoga was a natural progression. After attending several of Baron's personal revolution weekends, Mary took the plunge and attended Teacher Training Level 1 in Maya Tulum. She loved it so much that she recently went back to Level 1 after completing Level 2.

Teaching yoga is not a job, profession or career for Mary, it is her path in life. She loves practicing yoga, sharing it with others and watching how it can transform lives. Her family life and spiritual life have both been positively influenced by her practice and students. The small details in life that used to loom so large are now put into perspective so that the important and unimportant moments in life are more fully appreciated. Yoga has brought a profound sense of gratitude to Mary for all things, big and little, fun and boring, positive and negative. Baron once told Mary to "be the tortoise and not the hare." Since taking that advice to heart Mary is more content, loving and patient. Both Mary's life and her family's have been transformed through Baptiste Power Vinyasa Yoga. Sharing this transformative practice with others is one of the great joys in Mary's life.
