Jessica Martin

Since introduced to the Baptiste Power Vinyasa Yoga practice at the Cambridge studio by a good friend in September of 2000, Jessica Martin has yet to turn back. The heat, the sweat and the flow sucked Jessica right into developing a strong and consistent practice. This practice became not only a weekly workout routine but also a doorway that opened a whole new way to view her life and values. "I did not change my life dramatically after introducing this practice to my life, but over time and almost unconsciously I began to make better and healthier choices for myself."

In March of 2004 Jessica made a big decision to leave the corporate job that she had been dedicated to for almost 5 years. This gave Jessica the opportunity to dedicate more time to her personal practice and reflect on her goals and values, personal and career.

A few months later, Jessica made a last minute decision to apply to the Baptiste Teacher Training in Maya Tulum, Mexico. That trip changed her life dramatically. Within six months Jessica completed Level 1 and Level 2 Baptiste Power Yoga Teacher Training and the path she now follows as a teacher unfolded. Becoming immersed in teaching, often seven days a week, her students of all abilities gave Jessica the experiences that would assist in molding and fine-tuning her teaching style and skills. "I have always had a love for this practice, and being able to share that love through teaching fulfills me. Making even the smallest difference in someone's day or life is an incredible feeling."

In July 2005 Jessica got the opportunity take her teaching halfway across the world to Tokyo, Japan. Jessica teamed up with her old roommate from Level 1 Teacher Training, Naomi Hoshino who had since opened a studio in Tokyo. Learning to teach in Japanese was definitely a challenge but Jessica soon discovered her words and passion could be understood through any barriers. Jessica now travels to Japan every few months to teach workshops and assist in teacher trainings.

Jessica is also a Freelance Graphic Designer and works hard at balancing her two career paths; conveniently BPYI is one of her top clients.
