Jessica Martin

Since introduced to the Baptiste Power Vinyasa Yoga practice at the first Baron Baptiste Power Vinyasa yoga studio in Cambridge, MA by a good friend in September of 2000, I have yet to turn back. The heat, the sweat and the flow pulled me right into developing a strong and consistent practice. This practice introduced a whole new healthy way of living to me, creating a strong body from the inside out. Every practice cleanses my heart, body and mind.
Coming from the corporate world and having the ability to “escape” to the yoga studio helped me find a whole new balance. The more I learned about yoga the more I wanted to be involved with the Baptiste Power Vinyasa community. I let myself become saturated in my practice, teacher training and studies to become an experienced teacher. Living in Boston with two Baptiste studios, Master teachers and workshops galore made my process flourish.
After completing Level 1 & 2 teacher training in 2004 my path as a teacher unfolded. I have always had a love for this practice, and being able to share that love through teaching fulfills me. Making even the smallest difference in someone’s day or life is an incredible feeling.
In July 2005 I was given the opportunity to take my teaching halfway across the world to Tokyo, Japan. I went to support my old roommate from Level 1 Teacher Training, Naomi Hoshino who had opened the studio Prana Power, in Tokyo. I taught classes, workshops and assisted in teacher trainings and created lifelong memories. Learning to teach in Japanese was a very big challenge but I soon discovered my words and passion could be understood through any barriers.
Now residing and teaching in Florida, I have found a new balance and my passion for my yoga practice and sharing it with others is as strong as ever. I am enjoying watching the yoga community grow here and am very excited to be a part of it! Namaste!
