Jane Cargill

Boston native Jane Cargill ran track and played soccer throughout high school & college. Soccer allowed
her to travel internationally which lead to her fascination in different cultures and cultural expressions.
As a result, she studied Cultural Anthropology at State University at Stony Brook. She hopes to use what she
has learned experientially as a way of making a difference in her life and the lives around her.
Jane's first experience with yoga was in the summer of 2001 at Baptiste Power Yoga Institute. After years
of rigorous physical activity, she developed bursitis in both hips. In yoga, she discovered a challenging,
low impact exercise alternative that satisfied her craving for movement. Jane found new-found freedom in
expression and acceptance on her mat and fell in love with yoga that very first day. She continues to
nurture this through daily practice, and by teaching others.
Jane is currently a full-time instructor at Baptiste Power Yoga Institute and actively volunteers for
YogaHope, a non-profit yoga organization dedicated to bringing yoga to under-served women in the Boston
area and beyond. She teaches freedom through the joy of movement and connection to Source. She is honored
to share the practice that liberated her and brought her "home". She hopes to inspire students to embrace
their uniqueness, express their gifts, expand their minds, and find their JOY.
