Donna Hollinshead

In 1990 my career as an artist created the side effect of constant low back pain. At the recommendation of my chiropractor, I began practicing yoga. During my first time on the mat something clicked and I knew yoga was for me. It was so much more gratifying than the gym and the stairmaster. I committed to practicing daily for about 3 years. I loved the intention and focus of yoga. Over the years I tried different styles and was blessed with inspiring teachers. In 1995 I began teaching.

Teaching yoga is such a gratifying experience. My students have taught me so much over the years. In fact, one of my best friends and students gave me Baron's book, Journey Into Power, as a gift. I stayed up all night reading it. The words written resonated so deeply within me I knew I had to study this style of yoga. WOW! I am so grateful for Baron and his team's integrity and authenticity. The certification process was one of growth and expansion physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. After completing my certification, and experiencing the magic of Baptiste Power Vinyasa Yoga, I have dedicated my time to teaching this dynamic style of yoga. I am honored to serve as part of the BPYI team.

I have recently moved from Delray Beach, Florida to Weaverville (little town outside of Asheville), North Carolina. I believe we must first take care of ourselves then give of the overflow. I am dedicated to my own spiritual upliftment and growth as a minister in MSIA (the church of the Movement of Spiritual Inner Awareness). Learning and teaching are two of life's greatest blessings. I love yoga and the way we can all use it to shift, open, educate, and lift ourselves, on and off the mat.

As "Scribbles the clown" I have fun sharing joy and laughter with the young and old. I also share an abundance of loving with my husband David, and two sons, Michael and Christofer.
