Carla Giambrone
Carla teaches with clarity, courage and love. Her classes are soulful workouts that wring you out body and soul. After years of gymnastics and marathon running, her body hurt, but she didn't unearth just how much until Level I teacher training. Practicing Baptiste Power Yoga, she rediscovered the connection through her body and mind to her heart. Yoga has brought peace, gratitude, and a sense of stillness into her full life.
"For a long time, between building a successful construction company, teaching, and raising a family, I felt that I was too busy to feel joy. Now, my aspirations and activities are more meaningful and focused because I have a connection to spirit within that is renewed and recharged by practicing yoga on and off the mat. I am ever grateful to Baron for the training and the truth. Sharing this dynamic practice enriches my life with purpose and depth, and is such a blast."
An experienced English and writing teacher, Carla never dreamed her favorite classroom would be a sweaty 90+ degree room without furniture. She took Levels I & II within 7 months because she felt like a student again. Everything Baron said resonated on such a profound level---she was in a magical classroom that felt like home. Because she will live many lives before she leaves this one, she is committed to combining professional teaching with over 20 years as a commercial construction company owner to benefit her students and their communities. Carla is blessed by doing more of what she loves through carlayoga, and by leading retreats (most often in the fantastic Adirondack Mountains) to benefit non-profit yoga outreach that brings yoga to clinics and safe houses in Rochester and beyond. In 2007, she founded the non-profit yogaheart.org which is a force of volunteer yoga teachers who are reaching out, sharing their passion and changing lives.
