Bianca Piccillo
Bianca wandered into her first yoga class with Baron Baptiste in 1999.
Brand new to yoga, she was full of suspicions and doubts. By the end
of class these feelings were gone and she was hooked. Though it was
intangible and hard to verbalize, she knew deeply, instinctively that
she had tapped into something magical.
Happily today she has developed a vocabulary to describe this process!
The Baptiste method allows the body and mind to build true strength
combined with grace and lightness of being. All of this is done in an
atmosphere that allows plenty of room for humor and humanity. For
Bianca this has helped her to find and cultivate her center-and to
move and act from that place.
"I couldn't stand up and teach this process if I hadn't experienced
its power personally. I couldn't sustain the practice if it didn't
continue to feed me on so many levels-physically and spiritually.
This practice is truly holistic and as a result the practitioner steps
off the mat feeling integrated and liberated."
Bianca holds a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Harvard University.
She is a former competitive equestrian and avid scuba diver who has
traveled around the world conducting marine biological research. She
taught at the Baptiste Power Yoga Institute studios in the Boston area
for two years before moving to New York in 2006. Bianca can be found
teaching at Big Apple Power Yoga and at home in Brooklyn with her husband,
Mark and her Siamese cats Nori and Shiso.
