"Like attracts Like." I am a living example of this universal law as it relates to uncovering my passion. After my very first Baptiste Power Vinyasa class a spark of light ignited inside me as I left the class feeling as though my soul was fed. Like a magnetic force I was immediately drawn to this style of yoga, craving it week after week. I had discovered something that my soul desired. A ninety minute hiatus from self judgment, a retreat from the constant chatter of my mind and the beginning practice of self love and acceptance through the experience of the present moment. Not to mention the physical high of shedding pounds of stress through this form of "sweat and serenity," which fine tuned every muscle fiber, building my strength and flexibility.

"When the student is ready the teacher will appear," in my case only after three months of practice my teacher Diane suggested I go to teacher training. My initial reaction was not out of eagerness but of fear. I wasn't convinced I was ready to leave my comfort of being a receiving practitioner to a sharing teacher. However, that seed Diane planted soon grew into my own desire to teach. Teacher training Level 1 in Hawaii marked the beginning of my own personal revolution. I was able to expose my personal fears that were holding me back from the limitless possibilities that existed inside me. Things I didn't even know I didn't know saturated my consciousness which paved the way for a spiritual journey leading to my decision to attended teacher training level 2 in Montana. This week long transformation allowed me to trust my authentic self as a teacher and brought awareness to the many blocks that stood in the way of the light that already existed within me.

I love the mantra "jump, and the net will appear." This is exactly what I did when teaming up with my twin sister Ali in opening our vision Twin Power Yoga. Together we sought to bring the aesthetics of an oasis into a transformational center that fuels both the body and the soul. Hence our saying, "Twin Power Yoga, power the body ~ power the soul." Yoga for me is about returning into harmony that which is out of harmony. Whether that harmony is defined as physically, emotionally or spiritually. Most importantly, the gift of knowing that everything is perfect just as it is, it always has been and always will be. It is from my heart that wishes to share these gifts with others, and that's why I teach today.
