Vic practiced yoga for the first time in the fall of 1999. He talked, laughed, and fell the entire class. His teacher thought he would never come back. He did. Today he is a co-owner of that studio, Yoga Vida, A Baptiste affiliate studio in Austin. Vic seeks balance in manifesting the intent of Sutra 2:46, sthira sukham asanam: seeking both stability and comfort in his practice and teaching; and balancing sweat, strength, steadiness and challenge with ease, flexibility, freedom, and fun. He regularly teaches fives classes a week at Yoga Vida’s downtown studio, Yoga Vida 707. His free Friday evening class is a community tradition, drawing a packed house of 70 or more students each week.
Vic is a graduate of the University of Texas School of Business and the University of Texas School of Law. He has worked in law firms in Los Angeles and, since 1993, has worked for the State of Texas practicing environmental administrative law. He has worked extensively with the State Bar of Texas in developing stress management programs for lawyers and is the featured yoga teacher in The State Bar Lawyer Assistance Program’s DVD “Practicing Law and Wellness: Modern Strategies for Lawyers Dealing with Anxiety, Addiction and Depression.”
