Tina was first exposed to yoga while earning her BS in Mechanical Engineering at the University of North Dakota and competing with their swimming and diving team. It wasn’t until more than 10 years later, when she was living within walking distance of Shakti, one of the Baptiste affiliate studios in Seattle, that she took her first Baptiste style class. The heat, movement, sweat, and powerful feeling after class was not what she was expecting, but she was hooked. Not long after that experience she began her teacher training and mentoring at the studio. In 2011 Tina attended the Level 1 and Level 2 Bootcamps with Baron Baptiste. Two years later she another Baptiste training, the Art of Assisting workshop.
A move to San Jose, CA gave her an opportunity to leave her career as an engineer behind and teach yoga full time at several studios in the San Francisco Bay area. Tina is a hands on teacher supporting you throughout the practice. Expect plenty of assists, empowerment, humor, and sweat in each class. Outside of the yoga studio she volunteers teaching yoga to inmates in jail and prison. Tina is also a masters swim coach competing with her team at local and national swim meets and swim races in the pacific ocean and San Francisco Bay.
