Diana has been practicing yoga since 2001. Her practice began at the local gym outside Seattle with the kind of teacher who would call her if she missed a class to find out if she was OK. Through that teacher, she was introduced to Baron Baptiste’s Journey Into Power. Not long after that she moved across the country to NH where she began a sporadic practice at NH Power Yoga. In 2008, after being told by my doctor that she was obese, she recommitted herself to her yoga practice and lost 75 pounds and gained a new outlook on life. Seeing what this practice has done for her and how her transformation was able to inspire others, she decided to take the next step and become a teacher. She completed Level 1 Teacher Training with Baron Baptiste in December 2009 and jumped in with both feet when she returned home; teaching anyone and everyone who was interested anyplace she could (including her kitchen floor). In June of 2010, she became a regular instructor at NH Power Yoga. The time she spent teaching at NH Power Yoga really showed her how a powerful yoga community can effect change in both teacher and student. She completed Level 2 Teacher Training in May 2011 and received her Baptiste Certification in November of 2011.
She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from Randolph-Macon Woman’s College and is also a US Army Veteran.
A recent move to Greenbelt, MD has provided her with a new beginning as she brings Baptiste Power Yoga to the greater Washington, DC area.
